Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park
We wanted to do some snorkelling and since the east coast of peninsular Malaysia was still off season and we wanted a somewhat clear visibility when snorkelling, we decided to fly over to Borneo and spend some time at the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, just a 20 minute boat ride from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. We could of course go to the east coast of Sabah, which is very famed for its excellent diving spots, but they are not as easily accessible concerning that we are travelling with small children and the focus on these dive spots are mostly full scuba diving activity. After some pro and con discussions a 20 minute boat ride sounded just about right.
I totally forgot to invest in an underwater housing for my camera, so I borrowed my daughters US$100 pink Nikon Coolpix, for the underwater shots. I must say they turned out to be rather decent in quality. Not the snappiest in auto focus, which made me miss a couple of shots of some magnificent blacktip reef sharks.
Wonderful pictures, nice these under water pictures

Oh I used to fish in the sea back in Malaysia.
Parrotfish was the most common fish that we caught.
So colourful and tasty. 🙂
